Tanári oklevelet a kolozsvári egyetemen szerzett. Tanított Sátoraljaújhelyen, 1896–1902-es években Nagykanizsán. Veszprémben 1908 és 1915 között a piarista gimnáziumban tanár, majd a Budapesti Főgimnáziumban tanított. Behatóan foglalkozott irodalmunk 19. századi történetével. Érdeklődött a zeneművészet iránt, több zenei szerzeménye is van. Számos lapban és folyóiratban jelentek meg cikkei és értekezései.
