Először a Nemzeti Hírlap, majd a Pesti Hírlap, 1881-től haláláig a Budapesti Hírlap belső munkatársa, de több lapnak is dolgozott. 1894-ben alapította a Kakas Márton c. élclapot. A Kisfaludy Társaság tagja, 1902 és 1918 között Hajdúnánás országgyűlési képviselője. Eleinte Puszpáng és Vasálarc álneveken írt, de elsősorban Sipulusz néven megjelentetett humoros karcolatai, történelmi témájú novellái, regényei tették népszerűvé. Leghatásosabb műve az erdélyi magyarok sorsával foglalkozó Elnémult harangok című regénye, amelyből színdarab, később film is készült.<br /> <br /> ==Művei==<br /> <br /> *Munkái. 1–20. Köt.
